Message:  Joe Ziemer IS the first Professor of Newbury Studies;and,happily, he's still at work on that legacy. We all owe him a debt of gratitude for sharing his wealth of knowledge, and personal insight on Mickey and his Art. My first sit-down session reading his book is one of my most treasured experiences. Mickey lived an all-too-brief life of Shakespearean proportions...and, somehow, Joe was able to render that remarkable life in lyrical, unforgettable prose. It's also the essential go-to reference volume. I'm sure everyone here finds it indispensable. He's also one of the nicest individuals I've ever encountered. A good as the book may be, he's the greatest gift....to all of us....
