Hi Jeff and Debbie,

Mickey Newbury used the term "crystal and stone" in his beautiful song, "Leavin' Kentucky," which appeared on his 1977 album "Rusty Tracks." Drawing from this reference, Mickey's biography - my book - is titled, "Mickey Newbury Crystal & Stone (Second Edition)."

I think it would be wonderful to name your two-piece show, "Crystal & Stone." What a terrific tribute to Mickey! I know this act of kindness would make Mick smile. (By the way, a 1970's and a 1990's British band took the name... "Mabel Joy.")

As a key to understanding what the expression "crystal and stone" meant to Mickey in song, and to me in conveyance, you could refer to pages IX, 164 and 322 in the book.

Thank you very much for asking, and thank you for spreading the word about Mickey Newbury.

Take care,

Joe Ziemer
