Subject:  where`s the playground susie?
Message:  is a tune take from

the new JIMMY WEBB 5 cd set out on RHINO records - just out!
A great live track from live at Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Phil Orch., April 1972 - here from first time on record.
First time your can here Mr. Webb singing this great evergreen.

The story:
Around 1965 my friend JIMMY LAYNE WEBB was much in love with a beautiful girl from "his" group Contessas call SUSAN HORTON.
The group was base in Los Angeles and made a 45 record who was a minor hit in LA.
The recordings was done with strings and the "one and only" Mister Hal Blaine (35.ooo) sessions drummer.
He play with Sam Cooke, Beach Boys, Niel Diamond plus many more.
BUT we "all love" his groovy drum beat on The Ronettes "Be my Baby".
Mister Blaine was later know for his work on Kenny Rogers and the First Edition version of

MICKEY NEWBURY`s
"Just dropped in..."
If I remember right
also with Mister GLEN CAMPBELL on "that guitar".

Jimmy Webb many hits around 1968-70 was about this "lost girl".
Songs as "By the time I get to Phoenix" and so on!

Mr. Webb married Patsy Sullivan (father Barry Sullivan) in 1975.
They have 5 children, 4 boys and one girl.
Some of the boys are well know from the group "Webb Brothers".

Mr. Webb was again married in Oct. 2004 with Laura Savini, the 40ish Public Television reporter/producer.

Mr. Webb reach 60 in August 2006.

We have all here about the happy story about a girl from a singing group who met....

.... we all love our SUSIE!

sincerely
