| Message: | "As soon as the harvest is in, you're a migrant worker. Afterwards just a bum." (Nunnally Johnson) A SOMEWHAT DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE OF CALIFORNIA: I was born into a migrant farm family ~ 1 of 15 children...i Went back-and-forth between bio family and adopted family from age 13 months until I was 5 years old. At the age of 5, I was adopted into this miraculously loving CHRISTian home. MIGRANTS: As such, we traveled and followed "the work" (crops, milk cows, housekeeping, etc.)through various states. Even at such a young age, I remember working in the fields in CALIFORNIA ~ among a VERY FEW other frightful recollections from my first 5 years of life. About 15 years ago I watched 'The Grapes of Wrath' for the first time. The movie was so parallel to the memories I have had over the years, but had no one to ask about the recollections ~ be they real or imagined. A grown biological sibling located me about 26 years ago and confirmed my thoughts as being real / true; AND the fact that I am blessed beyond measure to have been adopted. This is probably "to much information" to share, but Craig's 'Quote of The Day' triggered some thoughts...GOD IS GOOD...ALL THE TIME! |
