Message:  I wasn't around when it started but I found it in time to get to know Mickey better. I met Mickey through Mamie and Milton right after Looks Like Rain came out. But didn't really get to know the man until I found the board years later. Although I still kept up with Mamie off and on.

Dave and Ernie or others might be able to tell us when the board started. I think they started or helped get the board going. It's mentioned in the cd set that Ron Lyons did on Mickey's life. It was called "An American Treasure" and it was truly a treasure and much more. A bunch of information about Mickey from Mickey himself on those cds. Many, many others that are family and friends and artist. A real fascinating piece of work.

There were so many that used to come here and if they showed up now, you would think they were first timers because they have been gone so long.

It really was a magical time for us as well as for Mickey, because of his being ill and pretty much having to stay at home.

There's been talk lately about being in the " In Crowd." With Mickey, I don't think there was an " In crowd". Just like the rest of us, he had close friends and family. But no clique on this board.

Just about anyone and everyone had access to Mickey ( when he was well enough). "In Crowd"? If you wanted to be in the " In Crowd " you just pick up the phone and call the man. Didn't matter if you had ever met him or not... Right Ginny? Mickey could communicate on all levels and make you feel perfectly at ease and you became a " New" " Old" friend within minutes.

I idolized Mickey and one of the best feelings in the world was when you would be hanging up the phone and Mickey would say   " Love ya Pal"

Yep, just like the Golden Days of Hollywood, we had our own Golden Days, right here, every night.
