Message:  Chip was a little bit better today. I talked to the surgeon, and he attributes it to the blood transfusions done yesterday. A hematologist is working hard to try and find out what the blood deficiencies are all about. They have done a bone marrow biopsy, but the results are not in.

His bowel ruptured prior to the surgery as a result of the blockage and not as a result of the surgery.
