Message:  Last night around 8 pm pdt, we arrived at home. It was a Grand Tour, done in a short time. We enjoyed every minute of seeing Tenn and Ky and Ind. Visiting with a few people along the way.

Memphis was our first stop and we saw Graceland, Sun Studios, (which is among my favorites) Beale Street and a general tour of this old city.
On the way to Nashville, we stopped at the Casey Jones museum, ate at a great restaurant, and drove to Hurricane Mills to see Loretta Lynn's plantation. It was beautiful - a must see for anyone in that area.
In Nashville, Judy and Mike were our tour guides, so we saw places around Nashville that I thought I would never see. Thanks kids. It is always nice to see Porch Friends and actually have the time to visit. A great day.

On up towards Louisville, stopped at Lincoln's birthplace and museum in Hodginville, KY. We love history and the Lincoln bios, so this was of great interest to us. Beautiful memorial.

Louisville, we met old friends at the Cracker Barrel and had lunch, then drove to Bardstown to see "My Old Kentucky Home" State Park. This is the place that Jim M was telling us about and it is beautiful. It is quite a drive from Louisville, so logistics would have been a problem as we had discussed.

We had a home cooked meal this day. Nice break in the travel.

Downtown Louisville is Frazier Museum, a place where Ellis could set up camp. He is interested in different Arms and the history of weaponry. Three story building of ancient battles on up to the present. All a good history lesson.

In Indy, we settled down and found our motel, where Joe Z had told us about. Nice and quiet. But, the Indy 500 race wasn't. Glad we had ear protection, but I don't thnk it helped alot. Open wheel racing has to be the loudest sound I've heard. It was an all day event, so we didn't get back to our motel until 7 pm. Then went to another Cracker Barrell for dinner. Yummmmm. Love those restaurants. We missed seeing Joe and Roxanne, but hope they make it to the Gathering.

Departed from Indy around noon, yesterday, after turning our car into the rental.   Got to Portland around 4 pm. Oh yeah, we turned our watches back 3 hours. heh heh.

Our heads are so full of stuff that we saw that we can hardly tell you all we did. But I tried. :)

Missed you guys....love you all....see you in a month.
