| Message: | for the prayers and well wishes for my brother Jim. The cancer was discovered when he attended a free 'health fair' which the electrician's union sponsors every year. He has been a blood donor for years so had no problem having blood drawn. He received the report in the mail, didn't understand what the 'numbers' meant (you guys know what I'm talkin' about..lol) so he took the results to a doctor he sees for gout. The doctor immediately got an appointment with an Oncologist here in Anchorage and the testing began....MRI's, cat scans, more blood work, etc. He underwent 5 hours of surgery today which went well but there is a concern about Diverticular disease. After a few weeks he will undergo more poking and prodding to see if this is another form of cancer. I posted on the 'back porch' that Jonmark's song "MY FATHER'S SON" brought tears to my eyes. We lost our Dad and Baby Brother to cancer and the song relates to who my brother is.....My Father's Son. I have loving friends and family in my life; my Porch Family have helped me, personally, travel down another stretch of 'rocky road' life sometimes brings. I love each and every one who rock on this porch. Shirley |
