| Message: | Last night Monica, Billy, and my granddaughter Karley came over to help us decorate our tree. She showed up in a little Santa Claus looking dress with hat and all. Earlier I bought the Mickey Mouse Christmas sing a long dvd to play while we decorated the tree. ( Hey old guys, this might sound silly but it has a lot of cartoons on it that are very old and brought back some of the magic of Christmas to me. Might want to get one for the kids or grand kids and keep it for your self.) We played the dvd and sang and decorated the tree. There was also hot chocolate ,cokes, DP's cheese dip, and Chili. At times we had to stop decorating the tree and do some dancing to the songs First there was me, Suzette, and Karley. Then Suzette's mother joined hands with us and danced then Monica and Billy joined in. Karley loved it when Suzette would twirl her. Then it was time to do some cookie baking. We did it the old fashion way. I went to Krogers and bought some cookie dough and then Suzette and Karley put flour on a cup towel and rolled it out. Karley had so much fun using the cookie cutters. She was so proud when her little stocking cookies came out so perfect. Then the cookies went into the oven and we decorated and danced some more by the tree. When the cookies were ready and cool it was time to put icing and sprinkles on them. Karley had a ball with shaking the spinkles out. The only bad thing is that she kept hitting the cookies and got icing on the sprinkler containers. Just like her "Pa" would do. she would lick the icing off the container before going to the next cookie. Then she looked so cute being " Miss Hostess of the year" as she walked around the room, with her cookies on a paper plate, serving everyone. Her little face showed that she was so proud of her accomplishment. It came time to go home and I gave Karley the dvd to take home along with another Christmas dvd I bought about Winnie the Pooh. The best part of the night........Karley jumping up and down screaming " I JUST LOVE BEING HERE! " |
