I like the song in a minor key, as he, RB and Jack Williams did at the Oregon Gathering.

I recall a recording of a performance of Jack and Mickey somewhere in the Midwest, with Mickey getting Jack to go back and forth on the choruses between major (as on the LP "Heaven help the child") and minor. Fascinating.

I perform "Why you been gone so long" at Mt. Hood Roasters, almost every night I'm on. In minor, it sounds more like the rhythmic drive of Young's "Southern Man".
