“Why You Been Gone So Long” has been recorded by the following bad-ass bluegrass groups:

Black Jack on their recent CD, “Progressive Bluegrass.”

Rocky Burnette on his new UK release, “Wampus Cat.”

Snake Mountain Bluegrass on their recent CD, “Bout Time.”

Citizens Band Radio on their 2007 self-named CD.   You can listen to a bit of it here: http://cdbaby.com/cd/citizensbandradio

Out of the Blue covered the song on their second album, “The Bluegrass Special.” They title it, “Tell Me Why...”)

Finally, The Brushy Creek Boys feature “Why You Been Gone So Long” on their 2007 album, “Take One!” Though they credit “Traditional” as the writer, the song is not yet in the public domain. So I sent an e-mail to their website, thanking them for covering Newbury and requesting them to credit The Mick.

Since we have passed 1200 total covers, the discography section is being updated. The covers it seems are spread everywhere.
