Subject:  A COLD DAY IN JULY
Message:  A COLD DAY IN JULY

I wait at the airport
With the snow falling down
It's a strange summer night
In this cold New York town
What once was so wrong
Is turning out so right
My baby's flying in
On the ten o' clock flight

The weatherman says
They expect it to freeze
I spent all of June
Down on my knees
The table's been turned
It's all come around
I watch and I wait
For her plane to touch down

She said,
When Hell freezes over
I'll come back to you
I'm worn out and tired
Baby we're through
Well, it's a cold day in July
I know it's quite rare
But her plane's in the sky and
There's a chill in the air

She tried hard to tell me
That she had to go
A woman like her
I never would know
She turned and she walked out
Taking all I believed
Sometimes a man's not a man
I just watched her leave

Time spent alone's like
Chasing a fast train
The days dwindle down
You run thru the pain
The nights are so quiet
The whiskey flows
The silence so deafening
You can hear yourself grow old

Sometimes a woman is
Just like a man
She gets lonely and hurt
And does all she can
Wherever she runs
Wherever she turns
She's reminded forever
That the flame still burns

She said,
When Hell freezes over
I'll come back to you
I'm worn out and tired
Baby we're through
Well, it's a cold day in July
I know it's quite rare
But her plane's in the sky and
There's a chill in the air

When Hell freezes over
I'll come back to you
I'm worn out and tired
Baby we're through
Well, it's a cold day in July
I know it's quite rare
But her plane's in the sky and
There's a chill in the air
