Message:  In the Northwest....if you live in the hills you can usually have a basement. We have bedrooms, etc. in our basement. It opens to the outside. Get the idea???

On the flatland.....we have so much rain, that it isn't often you will find basements. No one likes to pump out the water or build drainage ditches.
