Message:  Giving up half the publishing, at least for a specified period of time, seems to be the norm right now if someone gets a song cut.

I took some songs (not my own) to someone in Nashville and was told, yes, I can get them to the right people but I will have to have half the publishing. I told the songwriter and he decided not to do that. But everyone tells me it is how business is done now.
