| Message: | I see what's confusing you in that article. It is coverage of a BMI awards ceremony where Tia won an award for the song. "Sillers, who previously garnered BMI Country accolades for “There’s Your Trouble,” “Lipstick Promises” and “Land Of The Living,” wrote the song with Mark D. Sanders (share not licensed through BMI)" What that means is that, while Tia wrote the song with Mark, he didn't receive a BMI award that night because, as an ASCAP writer, BMI didn't license his share. Only BMI writers are eligible for BMI awards. He did receive a similar award for the song through ASCAP. Hope that clears it up... |
