| Message: | Hey Laura, I think that is the sweetest description of a dad that I have ever read. You are so blessed to have had a daddy that you loved and adored, and still do. So many do not have that to shore them up in the world. Thank you for sharing that with me. I never knew my real dad, and my step-dad left a lot to be desired, but I made it through. It lifts my spirits and gives me hope for the future when I read a tribute like yours to your dad. So many children today are just thrown away, and B.J. Thomas recorded a song to that effect a while back called "Broken Toys". It's worth looking up the words to and, yes, even listening to it. Perhaps a lot of disrepect began for children when folks started calling them "kids" instead of children. We herd them in and herd them out . . . I've just begun thinking along these lines in the past week or so . . . but it is food for thought. Come to think of it, I wonder where the term "kids" started, since it did refer to goats a while back. Words are interesting, aren't they. They can make you or break you. Hope no one thinks I'm weird for writing this down, but that's what makes life interesting. God bless you and your family, Laura, and thanks again for sharing that wonderful interpretation of your dad. It makes him more personal as an artist and a songwriter, and spreads the love you have for him all over the porch. Love, BarbraG |
