Message:  Jackie, I didn't start skiing until my son was in high school. I would drive him 45 miles to the ski resort, sit in the lodge and watch people falling down, laughing, getting back on the skis and doing it over again. I thought, 'some of these people are my age or older, so why shouldn't I try'. I stayed on the bunny hill the first and second season. Then I wanted to ride the chair lift to the top and ski down. My son said 'okay' but he would ski in front of me so I would know why to go. Needless to say, I was scared to death and since I was wearing a yellow ski outfit, it was quite apparent that I was the 'blob' laying on the slope. I finally got back on the chairlift, rode down and enjoyed the scenery.
I didn't quit skiing - found someone else to ski with and let him pass me by.....fun times!!!
