| Message: | Forums that require registration completely removes the guesswork. In the registration process, the IP address, world wide location, and service provider of the poster is recorded, and can be permanently banned. No matter how many how many times that person attempts to re-register, using a new screen name or email address, they will not be allowed to post from that same computer and service provider. Obviously, you know my opinion on this matter as my forum requires registration. I’m well aware there are dissenting views on the subject and some find the process troublesome. This is not an attempt to force my preference. Just clarifying the technology for those who might not understand what the possibilities are. Also understand, the family doesn’t have hands on access to this site as I do mine, so there will be lag time in removing posts/users as there currently is on the (registered) Back Porch. Hope this is helpful. |
