I am with Roy. Listening to pristine LPs is an experience that is unsurpassed however after a few plays we would get the scratches, bumps and hisses that come in that recorded format.

I remember going from LPs to cassette tape. Being basically a transient while in the US Navy, the cassette tapes were God sent but they left a lot to be desired in quality. I still have my copy of "Looks Like Rain/Live at Montezuma Hall" on cassette tape that I bought in the 70's.

It is a shame that the original masters were "lost" along the way. As the old saying goes, "you gotta dance with what you brought to the ball."   If the LPs were the only thing available, well, you do what you have do.

I believe that the best job was done with what was available. The question I may pose is this:

Would you rather have the boxset as is or would you rather not have a boxset at all?
