| Message: | I did in fact attend the picnic. Funny it's called a pinic because I didn't eat or drink anything all that day. Too far to the vendors plus stepping over people is not something I like to do !!! We got in the gate at 10:30 and planted ourselves up front and stayed through the Biblical rains which caused about an hour to hour and half rain delay. During the hardest of the rain my sister and I were huddled under our blanket that we had brought in case we wanted something to sit on. We still were soaked but i would have sat in that rain for another 6 hours to hear Ray Price again !! Don't get me wrong there were some very good performers but Ray Price was flawless. When his band did "Faded Love" and the 4 fiddles kicked in I think I had an out of body experience !!!! One person missing from Willie's band though was Jody Payne. I tried calling Waylon several times to see what was going on but just got his voice mail.Hope all is fine there. All in all it was a great show. We're already thinking about getting our hotel for next year. |
