Message:  I first heard Mickey sing American Trilogy in the early 70's. I was listening to my new FM radio (my first one) and a college radio station from the University of Bridgeport ,Ct.played this hauntingly beautiful masterpiece.

I kept his name and the song in the back of my mind for 35 years before I decided last month to search the web for more of his music and history. After obtaining some of Mickey's CD's I have become totally hooked. His music transcends classification, it belongs in a class by itself much the same way Aaron Copeland's music does. They both are purely American and they represent the American spirit in a way that is almost too difficult to describe yet very easy to feel. His music resonates through the soul and his lyrics in both their simplicity and complexity have never been matched by any other American songwriter. Stunningly beautiful work.
