| Message: | Last night's show was fabulous. The venue was perfect; with only about 500 capacity and very good accoustics. Jimmy had the audience captivated with his wonderful songs and stories he had to tell in-between. After the show, he was good enough to meet and speak with fans, sign autographs etc. As during the show, he had spoken of the sadness of losing a growing number of talented artists over the last few years, I asked him if he had known Mickey Newbury. He said he did, but not that well; but he thought that he had been a great singer and songwriter. He then said; "Hey, I dont suppose you know Erik Christenson ?" He left me with the impression that your dedication to his music meant a lot to him. What a genuine and gracious man he came across as. Best Wishes......Alan (Hope you others dont think that I'm trying to turn this site into a Jimmy Webb admiration society. In my book Mickey will always be the greatest Singer-Songwriter ever. His music has meant so much to me over the past 30 years or so.) |
