Hey, Meeks, no worries, she's not so
well-known. Her sister is Joan Baez.
Mimi Baez married a Cuban-born songwriter
and novelist named Richard Farina, and
as a duo they had a good thing going
during the folk boom era. Richard wrote a
novel called Been Down So Long It Looks
Like Up To Me and, tragically, he died
in a motorcycle accident on the way home
from the party celebrating its release.
Mimi continued on as a solo act and founded
Bread & Roses, a volunteer agency bringing
music and secondary funding to persons
confined to institutions.
