One of my favorite people in all of music, Levon died Thursday. I have great memories of interviewing him in the early 1980's, when I was editor of Westcoast Music magazine. His stories charmed a hundred smiles out of me. We shared a bottle of gold tequila, and Levon saved the angel's share for me. Here is a video that I made tonight, in tribute to him.

Very good indeed. Doug, I've got to have a copy of that first song so I can play it, well not me but someone, at my funeral. I've already got one from Toni, that will be played, and of course, Mickey's Eye On The Sparrow. My worst fear, even though I won't really be there, is that after the music, everybody will go home and not hear all the good stuff about me.

Another beautiful piece, Douglas. Levon was the real deal. He was also a hell of a good actor. Our generation is thinning... |
